Some thoughts on the importance of Ceremony

For many reasons over the last century, Australian communities have moved further away from referencing our lives from within traditional religious structure. However, even in this secular environment, we have retained a strong spiritual awareness. We may not worship at a church altar, but we are still able to be enveloped by, and in awe of, life's mysteries as they unfold before us.

There are a number of defining events in one’s life when the spirit within one’s heart and mind requires a moment to be still and to listen. Especially in this fast-paced modern world, it is important to draw breath and stand for a moment in silence and honour the sacred nature of Life.

Marriage CeremonyThere are the significant rites of passage that we want to share with those we love. From birth and naming ceremonies, through adolescent initiations, to commitment and joining ceremonies and the final celebration of a loved one’s life...

Any change in one’s life can constitute a time for ceremony; a time when some form of healing or ritual is required to move through it and onwards with renewed courage and stronger faith. I want to be part of the process of helping people empower their lives through the ceremonies we can create together.
