Where to Begin

It’s your wedding!

You will most likely have already chosen the date, time and place for your Ceremony. To find the right Tasmanian Marriage Celebrant to lead your Ceremony, I suggest you contact two or three and speak with them on the phone. You will be able to tell fairly quickly if you are comfortable talking with them at ease.

Wedding GroupIf you have decided that I am the Celebrant for your Ceremony, make an appointment to meet with me to discuss how to turn your vision into your Ceremony. It is important for both of you to envisage what you want for your Ceremony and to bring as clear a shared vision as you can to this first meeting. For your Wedding Ceremony to be an empowering experience for all present on the day, it is essential that it be crafted from the key elements of your shared vision.

Write a few notes about your feelings to bring with you and allow at least an hour for this discussion as there is also some necessary paperwork to be completed.

In Australia it is a legal requirement to lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form with your Celebrant, a minimum of one calendar month and one day prior to the ceremony. This document is valid for up to 18 months. The NOIM form must be signed in my presence (or that of another authorised person). You can download a copy of the NOIM form here.

I will need to sight your original Birth Certificates and some form of photo I/D. If you were born outside of Australia, a valid passport is acceptable. Any supporting documents in a language other than English must be translated into English by an NAATI accredited translator.

If either party has been previously married, a Certificate of Divorce stating the date of the Divorce Order must be produced. If a previous spouse is deceased, you will need to provide their Death Certificate.
If either party has officially changed their names, a Change of Name Certificate is required.

My Fee Structure
My standard fee for a marriage ceremony is $400.00*. The services I provide for this fee include:

• An initial visit and consultation plus additional meeting(s) as required
• The preparation and processing of all standard legal documents
• Preparation of a ceremony that will be uniquely yours from start to finish
• Informal rehearsal at Celebrant's office
• Leading of the marriage ceremony itself (includes the use of a professional wireless P.A. system for voice and music, if required)
• A bound presentation copy of your ceremony

*Subject to conditions - Booking deposit $200. For further details, download my Booking Form

I am always available to discuss any concerns you may have during this time. If you have any special requirements that are not covered in the list above, please discuss them with me as they may incur additional cost.

For other ceremonies where there are no legal requirements, the fee is $300. For such services, no Birth or other certificates are required at the initial consultation. In all cases, however, a non-refundable deposit is payable in order to secure your booking, with the balance required no later than the final meeting prior to the ceremony.
