It’s your wedding! You will most likely have already chosen the date, time and place for your Ceremony. To find the right Tasmanian Marriage Celebrant to lead your Ceremony, I suggest you contact two or three and speak with them on the phone. You will be able to tell fairly quickly if you are comfortable talking with them at ease. Write a few notes about your feelings to bring with you and allow at least an hour for this discussion as there is also some necessary paperwork to be completed. In Australia it is a legal requirement to lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form with your Celebrant, a minimum of one calendar month and one day prior to the ceremony. This document is valid for up to 18 months. The NOIM form must be signed in my presence (or another authorised person). You can download a copy of the NOIM form here. I will need to sight your original Birth Certificates and some form of photo I/D. If you were born outside of Australia, a valid passport is acceptable. Any supporting documents in a language other than English must be translated into English by an NAATI accredited translator. If either party has been previously married, a Certificate of Divorce
stating the date of the Divorce Order must be produced. If a previous
spouse is deceased, you will need to provide their Death Certificate. My Fee Structure
I am always available to discuss any concerns you may have during this time. If you have any special requirements that are not covered in the list above, please discuss them with me as they may incur additional cost. For other ceremonies where no there are no legal requirements, the fee is $300, which includes a $100 non-refundable deposit. As there are no legal requirements for these services, no Birth or other certificates are required at the initial consultation. | WELCOME | MY PROFILE | CEREMONIES - Marriage - Other | WHERE TO BEGIN | | TESTIMONIALS | FORMS | CONTACT | LINKS |
